Task

A volunteer gardener is required to help with the general upkeep and maintenance for the community garden. The tasks will include weeding, planting, transplanting, trimming & keeping paths clear. In the growing season help is needed with seed sowing, planting & harvesting. The garden produce are sold on Monday to Friday morning at the garden. The volunteer could help with the gathering of produce, cleaning & trimming & boxing and helping the public choose their veg. There are also chickens and glasshouses so the work is varied and interesting

About Us

Tearmann is now in it’s 15th year and is a community garden which aims to train & educate all sectors of the community in safe organic and biodiverse methods of growing & producing fruit, veg & eggs. Garden produce is for sale daily Monday to Friday 9.00am-Midday. The garden is used by many different community groups and schools incl Scouts, Active Retirement, TY students & Disability groups

What’s Required

An interest in gardening and willingness to work as part of a small team. Tasks may vary according to the day & weather so volunteer should be flexible. We are also flexible on times that volunteers can work so once the volunteer is comfortable with the work in the garden they can come and work at their own time and pace.
