What will you be doing?
We are urgently looking for a volunteer who can support the charity’s financial systems by moving our current way of working to Xero.
We need help to
- Set up our Xero account including restricted & unrestricted funding
- Guide the team to create an adaptable and updatable budget
- Support us with financial forecasting
- Track project financial situations
- Ensure reconciliation of records and transactions (and train our team to reconcile
- Help us create monthly reports
We would love a volunteer who can
- Quickly understand our current financial set up and main concerns
- Set up our newly purchased Xero account
- Train our small team to get the most out of our Xero accounts including creating monthly reports from Xero
- Help us get to grips with relevant options / approaches / strategies
- Discuss next steps
- Follow up with any further questions or outcomes
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a volunteer who
- Has knowledge and experience of Xero including tracking project spending, volunteers expenses, department spending, uploading invoices, reconciliation etc
- Tracking financial data and information
- Ideally if you have knowledge of charity/fundraising CRM systems (we use Donorfy)
- Has the ability to quickly understand the needs of/challenges faced by our small charity organisation
- Has accurate and up to date knowledge and experience of charity finance, SORP and other relevant frameworks
- Can train a small team to use Xero
We’d love to hear from people who are able to offer around 3-5 hours a week to complete this short term project. This is a remote role with flexibility to work around you.
This is currently a short term project role, however a regular financial assistant volunteer/bookkeeping volunteer role may become a permanent availability if the person appointed is interested.

With your help we will be able to continue to transform the lives of those affected by a poorly understood condition, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome through offering support services such as our counselling & therapy service, online support groups and befriending services. And ultimately ensure the long-term sustainability of our organisation beyond the challenges from the current financial climate.
