Do you dare standing up for people’s rights? Are you passionate about championing access to healthcare? Do you enjoy working in a team on often complex and challenging cases? We are looking for you.

Clinic Support Workers are the main point of contact for service users at our walk-in clinic in Stratford, east London. They carry out interviews with service users to determine their needs and to provide appropriate advice and support. They act as advocates and liaise with NHS service providers to link the service users to the care they need.

Our clinic currently runs on Tuesday (Women & Children), Wednesday and Thursday from 10am-5pm and we aim to re-open a full-time service soon

Commitment required: minimum of two clinic shifts a month for six months.

Some of the criteria for this volunteer position includes:

  • Demonstrated experience and interest in working with people in vulnerable situations
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting
  • Very strong social and communication skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Confident and clear telephone manner
  • Experience of communicating (both face to face and on the telephone) with a diverse team and amongst a broad user group
  • Your interest in and understanding of entitlements to healthcare for migrants
  • Desirable: Fluency in a relevant refugee language ie: Bengali, Mandarin, Vietnamese or Portuguese.

Location Home-based & face-to-face (Stratford, Est London).
