The Humanitarian and Stabilisation Operations Team (HSOT), contracted by Palladium International Ltd, provides the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) with humanitarian operations services and the UK Government’s Stabilisation Unit (SU) with stabilisation operations support.

We are seeking a Videographer to demonstrate the impact of UK aid funding in Ukraine and neighbouring countries through capturing human interest stories and content which shows impact of humanitarian aid with a focus on the most vulnerable, women, girls, children and older people.

Key Deliverables

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the FCDO communications team, the videographer is to deliver stills photography and video material to document the impact of aid as per requests. Deliver to FCDO’s media/social media strategy following brand guidelines and tone of voice and produce content to brief for the organisation. Impact videos will seek to highlight results of FCDO humanitarian funding for the conflict in Ukraine; how aid has impacted the lives of beneficiaries especially the most vulnerable; women, children, hard to reach, elderly etc.

  • Travel to programme sites in neighbouring countries to document programme activities: Take raw footage videos and stills photography of activities funded by UK aid in coordination with the FCDO Communications Team and partners (UN agencies or INGOs).
  • Conduct interviews with story focal points, beneficiaries and key stakeholders.
  • Obtain video footage (b-roll) for impact story videos for FCDO and partner social media platforms.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of producing content on humanitarian and development issues.
  • Experience of producing content covering UK aid programming an asset.
  • Ability to deliver video content for different digital channels and purposes
  • Experience of working with the UK Government, UN agencies and (I)NGOs and liaising with partner focal points.
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the communications requirements of an international or government department.
  • Good knowledge of project management, brief and script development.
  • Ability to edit video content on occasion and on request.
  • Experience producing videos that are shared through social media and other online platforms.
  • Ability to film broadcast quality video and audio plus knowledge of different video formats and video file conversions.
  • Experience developing short-form video clips and/or documentary style videos.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task under pressure and to meet strict deadlines.
  • Creative flair, originality and attention to detail.
