BASIC FUNCTION:

Provide senior management and leadership for the Data Operations division within IQVIA Biotech, including Data Management, Project Programming, Quality Control and Clinical Reporting (Biostatistics and SAS Programming). Help to assure growth of revenue and profitability through the design and implementation of cost effective, high quality research services for each client. Maintain overall responsibility for the quality and completion of all projects within the Data Operations division.

AUTHORITY:

  • Select and hire departmental staff, within budgetary constraints and in accordance with company policy.
  • Purchase items within budgetary constraints up to the limits laid down by company policy appropriate to a vice president’s position.
  • Specify the necessary training requirements for Data Operations staff.
  • Specify the roles and responsibilities of the Data Operations staff.
  • Dismiss a staff member as necessary, upon consultation with Human Resources and the Chief Operating Officer and after completing any documentation required by Human Resources.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Guide the development of corporate processes, procedures and guidelines relating to Data Operations.
  • Manage the growth, quality, and profitability of the Data Operations division.
  • Ensure adequate staffing of project teams, and coordinate requests for support from other IQVIA Biotech departments and/or external vendors.
  • Act as a mentor to supervise and ensure training for Data Operations staff.
  • Participate in client presentations and discussions of IQVIA Biotech services, including preparation and presentation of business development materials.
  • Review and provide input for the Data Operations section of proposal budgets and text.
  • Oversee the development of SOPs and Working Practices for each department within Data Operations, and review for ongoing accuracy and process improvement.
  • Accountable for the implementation, effectiveness and management review of the QMS including communicating its importance to staff, assuring adequate resources are available for its proper functioning, and encouraging improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties that may be requested by senior management as applicable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the data management and analysis aspects of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and/or clinical research service industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to select, lead, and motivate technical staff.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Very high level of judgment in the execution of duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively and efficiently with minimal to no supervision, while meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge of budget preparation, scheduling and monitoring.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of staff and with the public.

CRITICAL JOB FUNCTIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ADA CRITERIA:

  • Limited physical effort required to perform normal job duties.

MINIMUM RECRUITMENT STANDARDS:

  • Bachelor���������s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, clinical research or related field, with five years relevant experience.
  • ta handling, programming or analysis experience required, plus at least three years of experience in electronic data capture.

  • At least ten years of experience in managing people within a scientific/clinical environment is required.
