Additionally, our interns train in our Community Medicine high volume/ high quality spay and neuter clinic, and master techniques developed by the ASPCA Spay/ Neuter Alliance (formerly known as Humane Alliance). Additional opportunities include also learning dental techniques.

In addition to training in emergency, internal medicine, and surgery, the AAH Internship Program offers unique and specialized rotations in medical care of animal cruelty victims (anti-cruelty rotation) and veterinary forensic medicine. The ASPCA anti-cruelty veterinary medical team provides daily care for all animal cruelty patients in a special shelter facility. The ASPCA NYC forensic veterinarians have a combined total of 55 years of veterinary practice and 29 years of work in veterinary forensic medicine.
