Position Overview

As a User Experience Researcher at Autodesk Construction Solutions, you’ll shape decisions about what we build and how we build it by developing a deep understanding and empathy for folks who work in the construction industry. Our User Experience Researchers work with product and design stakeholders to scope, plan and execute user research that informs design and product decisions. You’ll advocate for our users and blend their needs with those of the complex world of construction.

Autodesk’s goal is to connect the people and processes seamlessly across the entire construction lifecycle–that’s a lot of people and lot of processes. It’s an ambitious goal, and you’ll help us meet it by finding the patterns in how people work today and what they need to improve tomorrow. You’ll work closely with design, product, and engineering partners to design qualitative and quantitative studies to facilitate an understanding of our users for the entire team.

Overall, you’ll help push our well-established and well-respected research team to a higher level of strategic impact.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and executing studies that drive foundational user understanding
  • Uncovering insights about complex behavior and environments
  • Working closely with product teams to help create experiences that users love

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-5 years leading all aspects of both generative and evaluative research studies
  • Strong experience in qualitative research methodologies like user interviewing, contextual inquiry, and generative workshopping
  • Familiarity with quantitative research methods
  • Strong analysis and synthesis skills
  • A strong curiosity for our users, and a passion for sharing and teaching others within our organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with large enterprise products
  • Experience with construction, architecture, or a related industry
  • Experience facilitating research and design-thinking workshops
  • Business and product acumen
