Background

iMMAP has been actively operating in Afghanistan since 2010, providing solutions to the information management (IM) needs of the humanitarian community to support informed decision-making processes. iMMAP delivers IM products and services to key partners in humanitarian response and disaster risk reduction, including but not limited to humanitarian clusters, USAID implementing partners, UNOCHA, the Afghan Government, and civil society. We work towards ensuring that data consistency and standardization are integrated into all systems for more efficient and cost-effective emergency response by all humanitarian actors.

As part of iMMAP ongoing efforts to maintain support to the humanitarian partners in Afghanistan, we are seeking a UX Designer to produce high-fidelity wireframes for the new version of ReportHub.

The Project team is already working on the back end of the project and has clearly defined the concept of the platform which has come as a result of consulting with partners in the ground.

Description of Duties

The UX Designer is expected to support the Afghanistan Information Systems team in developing the Platform’s features and user interaction. Specifically, s/he will:

  • Work closely with the project’s coordinator t to translate the findings of the partners’ survey into user stories Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and wireframes
  • Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets
  • Build page navigation buttons and search fields
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how ReportHub will function and look like
  • Create original graphic designs (e.g., images, sketches and tables)
  • Present and communicate insights to help shape long-term product strategy
  • Adhere to iMMAP style standards on fonts, colors and images

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role
  • A portfolio of web design projects
  • Solid understanding of digital platform development in low-capacity and low-connectivity contexts
  • Up-to-date knowledge of web design technology and trends
  • Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Scrum, an asset Degree in Interactive Design, Web Design, Graphic Design and Communications or a related field
  • Advanced knowledge of French is a plus

Deliverables

  • High-fidelity wireframes
  • Personas minimal profiles
  • User stories for main user personas
