The position of UX Design Manager will help define and drive the development of product design for JustAnswer for both internal and external use. As a visual and experience steward, the UX Design Manager will be focused on delivering world-class design across all platforms: desktop, mobile web, and app. This role is highly cross-functional and requires a strategic thinker with a bias for action.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor and guide a group of talented UX designers in Lviv and Uzhgorod
  • Collaborate with product and engineering to define and execute strategy
  • Work collaboratively with product, Engineering, Marketing and/or Content partners both in Ukraine and San Francisco to define priorities, plan projects, and design approaches that enable the best experiences and outcomes
  • Work with designers to ensure we have a deep understanding of user needs and that their design solutions fit into a consistent product experience
  • People management and team culture development
  • Prepare and deliver performance appraisals for team members
  • Demonstrate thought leadership by contributing subject matter expertise in the area of content design, storytelling, interaction design, visual design, user research, and online user behavior
  • Contributing to our design system

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience designing and delivering user-centered, data-driven consumer experiences
  • 2+ years of management experience and demonstrated experience leading design teams
  • An exceptional designer who’s able to inspire designers and researchers, lead them to deliver their best work while having fun at the same time
  • An expert at design process, workshop creation and facilitation
  • A natural coach, mentor and teacher. Exceptional collaborator with product management, engineering, user research, content and design
  • Driven to move fast, be decisive and deliver world-class user experiences
  • Superb English communication skills in a fast-paced environment (verbal, written, and visual) who has the ability to influence and build consensus
  • You’re organized and your teams get the work done. You’re flexible and able to work evenings to connect and work with the San Francisco team
  • Extensive knowledge of the end-to-end iterative product design process, including how to develop and use personas, customer journey mapping, wireframing and prototyping, user testing, and high fidelity visual
  • You are a leader with practical design chops. You’ve shipped many products over the years, and understand what it takes to build exciting, consumer-oriented experiences.
  • Well-versed in data-driven product design and development
  • You have experience working with growth initiatives or e-commerce
  • A player coach that likes to get their hands dirty
