The Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center (HHC) seeks an Upstander Engagement Manager. We seek a dynamic, driven individual to spearhead the HHC Upstander programs utilizing the language of character strengths. This person should understand the language of character strengths as well as knowledge of other diversity and inclusion-based programs for both students and adults.

Reports to: CEO

Duties of the Position:

  • Spearhead growth of the of the Cincy Upstander Project.
  • Visualize and create a three-year strategic plan to sustain and propel the Upstander project.
  • Create meaningful and sustainable resources, activities, programs, and professional development.
  • Propel HHC’s partnership with VIA, Mayerson Academy, Strong Cincinnati, and organizations focused on further integrating the VIA model for character strengths to be used as the language to promote Upstander behavior.
  • Create sustainable resources and activities in the museum that effectively incorporate the language of strengths to promote Upstander behavior for families and school groups.
  • Lead professional development workshops focused on Upstander behavior for educators, administrators, students, businesses, as well as organizations.
  • Grow and enhance the online presence for the Upstander Project on the HHC website and social channels.
  • Enhance the (individual) adult visitor experience in the Humanity Gallery through the development of takeaway materials.
  • Participate in ongoing training of docents/volunteers to guide visitors in the museum.
  • Build on current partnerships and develop new partnerships to grow reach, awareness, and engagement with Upstander activities.
  • Develop a programming revenue stream to build sustainability.
  • Ensure that all HHC initiatives and programs are connected to inspiring Upstander action throughout the community to create a community of Upstanders.
  • Create evaluative structures to measure our success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Knowledge of Via Institute on Character’s language of Character Strengths
  • Experience with diversity, inclusion, and equity programs
  • Knowledge of social emotional learning curriculum
  • Background in education, psychology, program development or experience working with youth and educators
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven track record of creating and growing projects from the ground up
