Job Summary
The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of all community engagement initiatives designed to engage on and off campus communities to support the mission of UtahPresents, including school matinee performances, workshops/classes with artists and community members, and professional development in the arts for K-12 teachers. In addition, the CEM works with the ED to develop and oversee program specific budgets and data collection and participates in the strategic leadership of the department in support of the mission, under the purview of the Associate Vice-President for the Arts at the University of Utah.

Category I: Mandatory and required on campus or health care facilities to support on-site operations. Employees hired into this category will be required to be physically located at our location if they are healthy and without COVID -19 symptoms.
Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Executive Director, identify, initiate, and deepen relationships with campus and community partners
Work with agents, artists, and community partners to develop and nurture programs that are responsive to and meet the needs of the various constituents, including K-12 students and teachers, campus departments and groups, and community members
Execute program event planning, ranging from materials identification and sourcing to transportation and scheduling details
Conduct programming research related to education programming for curriculum support materials
Develop and implement community engagement program assessment tools and metrics, including attendance statistics
In cooperation with the Campaign Manager, help to promote and publicize community engagement programs
In cooperation with the Content Manager and the Executive Director, assist in the development, execution, and reporting of grants that support community engagement work
In cooperation with the Finance Manager and the ED, prepare and oversee community engagement specific budgets
When necessary, acts as community engagement representative at conferences and meetings at the local, state, regional, and national level
Participate in national and international dialogue about arts and community engagement. Keep informed about best practices in community engagement and other relevant areas of arts education
Drive guest artist to events(have a valid drivers license
Supervise and direct the Community Engagement Graduate Assistant

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus two years of related experience or equivalency. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

Exceptional skills in community relations, a creative entrepreneurial spirit, and enthusiasm for engaging a wide variety of people
An understanding of the academic culture as well as the business aspect of non-profit work
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and an ability to learn job-specific software
Strong communication and organizational skills, as well as a positive team-based approach
Programming experience with specialization in one or more of these areas: cultural, arts, community, alumni, or student events
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discreet judgment
Ability to work without supervision and to make independent judgments
Ability to work within a complex system and coordinate with appropriate departments
Attention to detail and follow-through
Agree to flexible hours, including some nights and weekends
