The role
This role is for the Head of the President’s Office for the President & Vice Chancellor of UAL. The post holder will work with the P&VC and his team to make sure that UAL’s 10-year strategy (The world needs creativity) is being delivered. The role supports the P&VC on all major decisions; represents their views within the University and externally, manages the flow of advice and briefing to the P&VC and ensures decisions are followed up.
The post holder will have a key leadership role across the university. This is a high-profile role working directly with the P&VC, EB and other senior leaders which requires an ability to work at pace in an often ambiguous environment, be able to think strategically and operationally, engage in complex problem solving, and work with others in developing and delivering effective responses.

Your profile
You will have a high degree of political sensitivity and professionalism to command confidence with senior executives across the University. You will be experienced in leading, developing and empowering diverse teams to deliver in a complex environment that is fast paced and constantly evolving. You will need strong personal resilience and to thrive on reactive challenges. You will have excellent judgement, strong influencing and communication skills and the ability to manage competing demands. You will need to understand both the HE sector and UAL and its constituent parts, or be able to pick this up very quickly.
