Th is is a great opportunity to work in a busy team and contribute to UAL’s International Relations Unit’s work in developing partnerships with international universities.
The role is varied, covering general administration duties within the International Relations Unit and will include:
providing the Director of International Relations with diary management and project support; scheduling team meetings; arranging senior staff international travel, and preparation of high-quality briefing papers
dealing with incoming partnership enquiries from international organisations and liaising with academic and administrative staff across UAL Colleges
working with the UAL International Mobility team to process staff Erasmus mobilities (applications, travel bookings and expenses), and support the promotion of international staff mobility opportunities
To be successful in this role you will have a good existing knowledge of Higher Education administration, be well organised and have effective communication skills. You will need to have a pro-active approach to problem-solving, be comfortable working independently on tasks as well as contributing to collaborative team projects.

The UAL International Relations Unit coordinates and oversees the development and maintenance of the UAL’s international partnerships and networks, transnational education and student and staff international mobility.
Your profile
Your profile should include –
To coordinate and deliver the general administrative requirements for the International Relations Unit (IRU)
To support the Director of the International Relations with diary management and in the setting up of and preparation for meetings
To liaise effectively and sensitively with Colleges and other University departments to ensure good communication and involvement with IRU’s work
To provide administrative support to UAL working groups and committees as agreed with the Director, such as the International Strategy Implementation Group
To coordinate requests and organise incoming visits by international visitors, including liaison with Colleges and Business Units regarding visits and meetings, drafting of the formal schedule and organisation of refreshments and meeting rooms as necessary.
To support the scheduling of some of the major outgoing delegations including booking travel and accommodation, visa applications and liaison with partner institutions and organisations regarding the visit schedules.
To assist the International Exchange Manager in the promotion of Erasmus staff mobility opportunities and responding to staff enquiries and follow-up
To create and maintain records of all staff mobility applications including the calculation and processing of Erasmus staff mobility grant applications
To book Erasmus staff travel and check related staff expenses claims in line with Erasmus and UAL policy and guidance
Educated to at least A-Level or equivalent relevant experience.
Uses appropriate levels of IT skills to enable best use of available information and communications as necessary for the post: MS Office, email, intranet, internet and has a willingness to learn new systems as the role demands.
Has significant administrative experience
Has relevant experience and is able to work independently, using initiative, whilst maintaining confidentiality.
