Sports Marketing and Communications Assistant

University of Cambridge

It’s not often that an opportunity to work with some of the world’s most talented people from a diverse range of backgrounds comes along. The University of Cambridge Sports Service is seeking to appoint a Sports Marketing and Communications Assistant to support the marketing and communications function of the department and to fulfil our objectives set out in the Strategy for Sport 2023- 2027.

The Sports Service operates three sites across Cambridge: the University Sports Centre, Wilberforce Road Sports Ground and Fenner’s Cricket Ground; all sites are open to members of the community and University staff and students. In addition, there are over 80 different Sports Clubs and Societies at Cambridge, all with their own success stories to celebrate.

As the Sports Marketing and Communications Assistant, you will be assisting in the creation and delivery of campaign assets to maximise return on investment and grow the Sports Service’s revenue streams. In addition, your contribution to writing and sharing content involving different sporting success and action at Cambridge will help raise the profile of sport, leading to stronger attraction of sporting talent to Cambridge. This will also help to open the door to sponsorships and support opportunities.

Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, you will be based at the University of Cambridge Sports Centre based in the West Cambridge site, off Madingley Road, Cambridge. A hybrid setup of working from home and the Centre will be considered as acceptable working arrangements, as well as flexibility in working hours.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
