The role is within the P&C Reinsurance Business Unit in the Global Specialty Division and is based in Zurich.
About The Role
Your focus will be on all Aviation Treaty Underwriting and Client related matters, with main focus and responsibilities on clients in Asia, India, Middle East and Africa. You will contribute to the growth and profitability of our portfolio, and you will also be collaborating with partners across the globe (brokers, clients, internal stakeholders).
You will be performing a variety of functions including, but not limited to:
- End-to-end underwriting analyses, conducting technical assessment, costing and reviewing reinsurance terms and conditions
- Quoting, structuring and Leading programs
- Ensuring compliance with all internal guidelines, underwriting and pricing parameters, best practices as well as Code of Conduct
- Entering and maintaining risk information into the various information systems and administering the accounts
- Working closely with LOB Head to identify portfolio insights and contribute to underwriting strategy whilst collaborating across teams as well as functions within Global Specialty
- Active contribution during Senior Leadership Team Meetings
- Developing and fostering client relations, you will play a meaningful role in meetings and interactions with our brokers and clients
- Representing Swiss Re at industry events and with clients, by demonstrating deep knowledge on important market and industry topics
About The Team
We are an experienced team of 10 located in Zurich and Munich. Our team includes actuaries and underwriters who collaborate with client managers, risk managers, claims and reserving experts. We underwrite a Worldwide book of Aviation and Space reinsurance business. You will join a collaborative environment consisting of a versatile and international underwriting team. Our clients are based all over the world and the interactions are via Brokers but also on a direct basis. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a unique specialty line of business, and a dedicated group of professionals.

Essentials
- University degree or equivalent in Business, Economics, Mathematics or Actuarial Sciences
- Strong Aviation Treaty Underwriting background with at least 7+ years of experience with focus on technical underwriting and pricing
- Demonstrate excellent Contractual knowledge of (re-)insurance wordings and superior analytical skills
- Willingness to travel
- Well organized, able to define priorities and you are committed to achieve high quality results on time
- Consultative selling and negotiation skills
- Excellent oral and written English; additional language skills advantageous
