Active Together (formerly Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport) is a partnership organisation working to help communities in Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland lead a healthier life by doing more physical activity and sport.

We are looking to recruit 3 undergraduates, currently studying for a degree, for a 6 – 12 month volunteer placement opportunity from September 2022.

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic undergraduates with a passion for pursuing a career in the physical activity, sport or health sector to join our team on a volunteer placement opportunity. You will support a range of projects, programmes, events and campaigns as well as the business functions of our organisation. Examples of these include supporting School Games, Early Years, Steady Steps and Social Media campaigns. Further training and professional development opportunities will be available as part of the role including:

• Event management
• Behaviour change and customer service training
• Safeguarding and risk assessment
• Volunteer management and development

The positions will be based with Active Together at SportPark, Loughborough University. Although the position is voluntary, out of pocket expenses will be paid (travel and any work related expenses).

The experience is intended to help better prepare you for a career in the sector and give you an appreciation of how national and local physical activity, sport and health policy is applied at a local level.
