World Vision

The escalation of conflict in Ukraine has forced more than 5 million people – mostly women and children – to flee to neighbouring countries. With the escalating crisis, the needs are growing by the hour. More than half of Ukraine’s children have either fled for safety within the country or are living as refugees.

Since the conflict started, our teams have been on the ground assessing and responding to the urgent needs of those searching for safety. We are currently scaling up our multi-country response across three countries (Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine) and are recruiting for many key positions that will make a direct impact on the lives of people who have been caught up in conflict.

Here’s where you come in:

As the Safeguarding Expert, you will develop and manage World Vision’s Ukraine Response Safeguarding Strategy and will lead on prevention, reporting & response to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.

You will be responsible for building a culture of safeguarding, where staff are informed and empowered to discuss key issues, report, and take action on safeguarding violations, making World Vision a safe place for all.

You will engage externally to position World Vision (WV) as a trusted organization of excellence in Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Sexual Harassment (PSEAH). You will represent WV and build strategic partnerships with key government agencies, donors and the UN, including active participation in PSEAH Networks. This position will also play a critical role in securing adequate funding through engagement with World Vision Support Offices and other donors as required.

You will serve as the focal point for Safeguarding, working closely with all WV sectors and departments to ensure the full implementation of national and international Safeguarding standards across the office. You will also coordinate and lead the investigations related to Safeguarding in collaboration with the Safeguarding Coordinators (at Hub Level) as well as the Response Director and Regional Office.

Requirements Include:

  • Masters degree or equivalent in the fields of protection, gender, social work, international development, or a related field.
