The escalation of conflict in Ukraine has forced more than 5 million people – mostly women and children – to flee to neighbouring countries. With the escalating crisis, the needs are growing by the hour. More than half of Ukraine’s children have either fled for safety within the country or are living as refugees.

Since the conflict started, our teams have been on the ground assessing and responding to the urgent needs of those searching for safety. We are currently scaling up our multi-country response across three countries (Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine) and are recruiting for many key positions that will make a direct impact on the lives of people who have been caught up in conflict.

Here’s where you come in:

As the Procurement, Supply Chain & Logistics Director, you will manage the procurement, logistics and supply chain response operations for the Ukraine Crisis Response and ensure that World Vision has the appropriate logistics and support structures in place to respond effectively and efficiently. The role requires a thorough understanding of logistics processes including procurement, importation processes, warehousing and transport.

You will be responsible for the management of staff, contracts and will be required to engage with external partners. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to ensure the process is followed resulting in accountability in all aspects of the supply chain.

Requirements Include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Graduate Diploma in Business (Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Logistics) or equivalent.
  • Up to 10 years’ experience working in Emergency Logistics and Supply Chain functional areas (Procurement, Warehousing, Air, Sea, Land transport, Last mile distribution, Customs Clearance.)
  • Extensive knowledge and skills in leading and developing Integrated Emergency Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement and capability at an organizational level.
  • Experience in building strong collaborative partnerships with internal and external (International Organisations, UN Organisations, Corporate, Government and Military) stakeholders.

  • The position requires the ability to travel in the European Union, Moldova and Ukraine.

  • Language requirements: English; Romanian, Ukrainian desirable.
