The escalation of conflict in Ukraine has forced more than 5 million people – mostly women and children – to flee to neighbouring countries. With the escalating crisis, the needs are growing by the hour. More than half of Ukraine’s children have either fled for safety within the country or are living as refugees.

Since the conflict started, our teams have been on the ground assessing and responding to the urgent needs of those searching for safety. We are currently scaling up our multi-country response across three countries (Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine) and are recruiting for many key positions that will make a direct impact on the lives of people who have been caught up in conflict.

Here’s where you come in:

As the People & Culture (HR) Director, you will provide strategic leadership to World Vision’s Ukraine Crisis Response (UCR) in the area of people management & organizational development in order to optimize organizational performance, fulfil World Vision’s mission, vision, core values and contribute to the measurable improvement of the well-being of vulnerable children and communities affected by the crisis in Ukraine.

Your primary responsibility will be ensuring, developing and promoting People & Culture (P&C) strategy, leadership development and sustainability, staff and organizational well-being, performance and accountability culture, diverse and talented workforce with the right set of mindset and behaviours, internal and external networking for greater impact and a professional and sustainable P&C function in the organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management or Social Sciences.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Senior Human Resources Management position in an international organisation.
  • Minimum 5 years working in humanitarian response contexts including fragile contexts.
  • Experience in risk management in high risk and sensitive environments.
  • Experience in emergency response scenario planning process.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to travel regionally and internationally
