Since the conflict in Ukraine started, our teams have been on the ground assessing and responding to the urgent needs of those searching for safety. We are currently scaling up our multi-country response across three countries (Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine) and are recruiting for many key positions that will make a direct impact on the lives of people who have been caught up in conflict.

Here’s where you come in:

As Grant Acquisition Management Manager for Ukraine, you will lead a team of program officers (both international and national personnel) who will lead grant acquisition and management efforts inside Ukraine.

You will be responsible for donor engagement and pre-positioning efforts for the Ukraine program, leading proposal design and development and advising grant management for the team. You will be expected to live and work in Ukraine and will be a part of the Ukraine management team and play a key role in advising and strategic contribution to the country response portfolio development and quality of grants being implemented under the portfolio.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Establish, resource and staff the Programs unit to meet response needs
  • Facilitate program planning process to ensure alignment with context, humanitarian needs, response strategy as well as operational feasibility and technical quality
  • Support Finance in the allocation and tracking of response funding to ensure response strategic priorities are funded & effective leveraging of available funding
  • Donor liaison and advocacy is undertaken to resource operations plan to address humanitarian needs
  • Develop and submit project proposals to donors to resource operations plan
  • Support Finance to establish grant management system to ensure fulfillment of donor requirements
  • Plan the initial rapid assessment process and manage the data collection (including primary, secondary data, observational data and community feedback)
  • Staff management

Requirements include:

  • Must have a university degree or equivalent in Social Sciences or related field (a Masters is a plus)
  • HEAT security training/equivalent
  • 3-5 years experience in emergency response programming including fundraising.
  • Proven track record for multi-sector program design for large complex emergencies.
  • Experience in/knowledge of rapid assessment and ongoing contextual analysis
  • Effective in written and verbal communication in English. Knowledge of Romanian/Russian will be advantage
  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 60% of the time. Majority of travel will be within Ukraine where World Vision regional offices are operating.
