Assistant Sport Development Officers (ASDO) – x2 Positions
In support of DirP&T/People Support objectives, Assistant Sports Development Officers will work under an HEO (Higher Executive Officer) who is the Team Leader for Sports Development. They will be able to deliver Sports Coaching to a UKCC L2 (Level 2) standard, or equivalent in various disciplines. They will be key to the facilitation, administration and delivery of sport to RN personnel, providing support and advice to Sports Associations and a close working relationship with the Physical Training Specialisation. A key delivery objective is to provide opportunities for participation in sport at all levels which will strengthen and enhance the resilience and resourcefulness of RN personnel with a particular focus on grassroots. The Assistant Sport Development Officers will support the Sports Development Team as the conduit to providing grassroots opportunities and thus support the Royal Navy Sports Continuum at all levels. In support of SO2 Sport Delivery, they will also co-ordinate Award Ceremonies, NAVYFit festivals and Seminars. Secondary roles to be split between these two positions will include leading on the media and comms output and overseeing the scheduling/deconfliction of major events for the Development Team.
Sports Development Assistant 1 (SDA1) – x1 Position
Sports Development Assistant 1 will work under the management of an HEO who is the Team Leader for Sports Delivery to support the team of Sports Development Officers in the delivery of events for the largest 14 sport associations. This role is primarily delivery focussed in support of multiple events and activities and draws on organisational skills, the ability to prioritise effectively and communicate clearly with a broad range of service and civilian stakeholders. A secondary role will be to function as the Media and Communications lead for the Sport Delivery Team.
Sports Development Assistant 2 (SDA2) – x1 Position
The Sports Development Assistant 2 will work under the management of an HEO who is the Sports Development Officer for Winter Sports. The role is split between support to the team of Sports Development Officers in the delivery of events for the largest 13 sport associations whilst also providing operational support to Royal Navy Winter Sports Association regarding the coordination and mounting of their events throughout Europe. This role is primarily delivery focussed in support of multiple events and activities the UK and overseas and draws on organisational skills, the ability to prioritise effectively and communicate clearly with a broad range of service and civilian stakeholders. The split between outputs will vary according to priorities and the timing of major events.
