The RAPT Policy Team is responsible for Defence Resilience policy, including resilience, business continuity and protection of Defence’s Critical National Infrastructure (CNI), setting direction on how Defence evaluates which activities are important, the resilience risks to their delivery and how it can deliver these activities in the event of a foreseeable threat or hazard; based on the governments National Security Risk Assessment (NSRA).
Set policy on Defence Resilience and Business Continuity and provide policy advice to the Department;
Set policy Defence Critical National Infrastructure (Def CNI), provide policy advice to the Department, and manage the Def CNI List and Defence’s engagement with other CNI Sectors;
Develop and maintain crisis management plans, policies and processes;
develop and maintain education and awareness campaigns to improve Resilience behaviours by all Defence Personnel; and
Regular engage with the Cabinet Office (mainly the Civil Contingencies Secretariat), Other Government Departments and a large community of Defence Stakeholders both within TLBs/EOs and Head Office policy teams on Resilience and CNI Policy.
A longer-term objective for the Policy Team is to develop a community of Resilience and Business Continuity professionals across Defence and increase professionalisation to enable them to act as champions within their major business units.
