Launched in 2019, Taptap is tapping into a transformative shift in global finance: from banks to phones. While this has affected wealthier countries as well, it has been nothing short of a revolution for the emerging markets where the overwhelming majority of population had been unable to access digital finance previously. Its first product, Taptap Send, allows immigrants to send money home instantly and with no fee, saving money in the process. The Role

As the UAE Country Launch Manager, you will be part of a world-class growth and partnerships team, and your role will be to develop and scale Taptap Send’s growth among the Middle Eastern, South Asian and African diasporas in the UAE.

You will be excited to manage every aspect of launch and growth for said corridors: customer acquisition and retention strategy, pricing, user research, product quality, customer experience, recruitment and management of a high-performing team. You will have an acute “own it” mindset, equally obsessed with the experience of individual users as with iterating and optimizing scalable growth tactics and processes.

Reporting to the Regional Head, you’ll combine great operational prowess with a data-driven test-and-learn mindset. You’ll be a creative thinker who is always looking for ways to hack growth. You will be accountable for providing strategic insights and solutions to decision-makers based on data, whilst having the emotional intelligence and experience to hire and inspire great talent.

The Ideal Candidate

You enjoy challenges, you love travel and adventure, and love to project manage. You feel comfortable in unfamiliar settings and enjoy working in a team environment to figure out the path to success. You are enthusiastic about working in the fast-paced environment of a rapidly growing startup. You speak multiple regional languages, and love getting on the ground and talking with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, design and execute growth marketing efforts in the UAE for Taptap Send
  • Lead data driven identification of customer cohorts, as well as payout corridors, from the UAE
  • Own the customer lifecycle by leading all aspects of the execution of Taptap’s growth strategy in key corridors
  • Understand everything that’s going on in your corridors through defining, tracking and reporting on key metrics
  • Develop and scale creative growth campaigns that are nevertheless tailored to specific communities
  • Get on the ground with customers, understand their specific needs, and design products and campaigns that are community-specific
  • Recruit and manage a team of launchers to work with each community
  • Work cross-functionally with the Product, Ops, and Engineering teams to ensure Taptap Send has the best product offering in the market
  • Run experiments that help us constantly improve our growth playbook

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a high-performing, fast-paced environment (tech, professional services, political organizing, etc.) High-growth startup experience a big plus
  • Experience building and leading a team and a commitment to investing in their development
  • A data-driven decision-making mindset and business acumen
  • “No task too small” mentality and willingness to delve into gritty details to get things done
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passion for working with and for migrant communities
  • Fluent in English; at least one South Asian or Middle Eastern language required, and two additional languages preferred.
