TWO FIELD COORDINATOR – ADEN AND HODEIDA

Created in 1979, Action contre la Faim is a non-governmental organization that fights against hunger. Its charter of humanitarian principals- independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency – has been part of its identity for more than 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of under-nutrition, particularly during and after emergency situations linked to conflicts or natural disasters. RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Country Director, we are looking for one field coordinator in Aden and another one in Hodeida. Both will have the mission to ensure leadership and strategic oversight of programs and support functions (Finance, HR and Logistics), while coordinating mission’s internal risk control, including security.
More specifically, you will:
– Coordinate ACF country strategy implementation at field level by designing and updating the country strategy and implementing it at field level
– Coordinate overall implementation of program at field level through the facilitation of new projects, the supervision of the support and programs and the synergy between Technical and Support services at field level
– Manage the team performance at field level : social climate, training needs, prevention of frauds and power abuses…
– Facilitate good relationships with the coordination team by updating them on program implementation, by refering to them for any matter that could jeopardize the programs, the funding or the security of staff and premises or by demanding support.
– Represent ACF and liaise with regional authorities, UN, NGOs at field level
– Manage overall security and safety operations on the base by drafting the local security plan, organizing the briefing of ACF team on local context and security, ensuring the application of security procedures and managing any security incidents at base level and report to the Country Director.

REQUESTED PROFILE

You have a Bachelor Degree with at least 3 years of experience as Area Manager or Field Coordinator in conflict or post conflict context. Your competences and skills in humanitarian analysis are high and you have experiences in project cycle management and capacity building of national teams. Moreover, you have already worked in a multi-cultural environment and security management in complex environment.

SPECIFIC CONDITIONS / SALARY

– 6 months of fixed-term contract under French law (for international candidates) or Yemen law (for national candidates)
– Remuneration according to ACF’s policy
