The starting salary for this position is is £27,991 per annum for a 36 hour working week.Scroll down for a complete overview of what this job will require Are you the right candidate for this opportunity As a Transport Officer you will be part of the Children, Families and Lifelong Learning Directorate and will join our Transport Coordination Centre team who are responsible for the delivery of transport options for a number of our service departments. The role reports to the Transport Delivery Team Leader and is one of eleven Officers within the team who are responsible for key tasks such as planning and procuring efficient, cost effective and safe transport for a wide range of council customers, including mainstream and children/young people with SEND going to school/college, and vulnerable adults going to day centres. As part of this role you will regularly review the transport arrangements and implement any changes required which will involve the maintenance of accurate data held in the transport software system to ensure effective scheduling and the provision of accurate management information. Other key areas which you will be involved in will include (but not be limited to): Identifying efficiency improvements and implementing these on an ongoing basis to reduce transport costsEffective stakeholder managementAssisting with pupil behaviour management on transport in liaison with parents and schoolsWe are looking for candidates who can evidence the following in their CV and Personal Statement: Experience of working within transport planningAn ability to provide excellent customer serviceFlexibility to work from home and independently learn when requiredAn ability to plan effectively within available resourceGood communication skillsPlease note, in addition to this permanent vacancy, we also currently have two 6-month, fixed-term contracts available.
