Translators required – Arabic, French, Portuguese, Spanish and others! (Individual and firm-based opportunity)

AAN has undertaken more than 110 consulting projects in 25 countries (East Asia and Pacific, South & West Asia, Middle East, East and South Africa, and West Africa), with bi / multilateral funding agencies, United Nations, public sector, and non-profit entities.

AAN Associates is looking for translators for existing and upcoming assignments. AAN is interested in both individual translators as well as companies/organizations that provide translation services for languages such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish among others.

Following are the requirements to apply:

1. 5 years of experience minimum in providing translation services
2. Experience in translating technical documents and reports (preferably those of UN organizations such as UNICEF, UNHCR, WFP etc.)
3. Experience in the development sector and/or of translating development sector documents (such as Health, Nutrition, WASH, Child Protection, Humanitarian Issues etc.)
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Highly organized and details oriented
6. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, when necessary.

Following are the expected responsibilities:

1. Review the translated final reports.
2. Ensure proofreading is in line with the English version of the report of the documents before submission.
3. Ensure a consistent flow of information using the same standard and formatting used in the original report.
4. Ensure translation accuracy of key technical terms and sentences.
5. Ensure Tables and Visual consistency as per the flow without compromising quality
6. Ensure translation of all the information inserted in all given fields in the relevant language.
