
UNOPS
- Translation of documents from English to Hebrew Language and vice versa. The translated text must be delivered in MS Word.
- The texts could be used for print publications or published on the web. The translated text must be delivered in a manner that is compatible with these channels of publication.
- All text, including text contained in figures, boxes, and tables, require translation and proofreading. Proofreading and editing will be done primarily using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Proofreading and editing of documents will make use of track changes.
- The translator is expected to perform terminology research (i.e. on WCO, WTO, KYOTO websites and others) to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of the terminologies used in all translations. The translator is also responsible for ensuring quality and accuracy of the entire document before submitting it back to the OQ.
The work is of a highly confidential nature and the translator must maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.
Education/Experience/Language requirements:
Education:
- University degree in translation or related field is preferred , Master degree in relevant field will substitute some years of experience
Work Experience:
- 4 years of experience as a professional translator providing high quality reports.
- Excellent understanding of grammar and vocabulary in both languages is required.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Skills and Abilities:
- Experience of working with UN or International Organizations is a plus.
- Proven technical translation/interpretation skills in legal English and Hebrew in the UN or other international organizations fields is highly desired
- Experience in translating technical documents (e.g. water, energy, economics) is an asset.
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision.
Language Requirements:
- Excellent command/fluency in written English.
- Excellent command/fluency in written Hebrew.
