Job Brief:

The Training Specialist, based in Tunis, provides training, facilitation, and curriculum design support to the MENA Regional Training Program in its project “Building Institutional Capacity in Tunisia to Promote Regional Peace and Stability”. The Training Specialist will be on the Regional Training and Partnerships Initiative team, reporting to the North Africa Program and Regional Hub Director. This position is open to Tunisian citizens and legal residents of Tunisia.

Major Duties and Responsibilities * Contribute to (in coordination with USIP’s in-house thematic experts and curriculum design team) the development of curriculum on peace, conflict management, conflict resolution, mediation, negotiation, and other tools of diplomacy for Diplomatic Academy students, tailored to the Tunisian context * Deliver the abovementioned customized trainings to Diplomatic Academy students over the course of each semester * Deliver trainings to Diplomatic Academy staff on M&E, progress tracking frameworks and data collection tools * Facilitate consultative meetings/needs assessment sessions with stakeholders and partners * Facilitate strategic planning sessions with partners and stakeholders * Facilitate business planning meetings between business consultant, USIP, and Academy staff * Develop strategic planning tools and frameworks based on the results of the needs assessment * Conduct pre- and post- training evaluations, distribute surveys and write training reports based on observations of student participation for the purpose of assessing student learning and satisfaction * Contribute to other USIP training and capacity building initiatives in MENA as needed

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) * Five (5) or more years of related practical experience as a trainer/facilitator * Knowledge of Middle East and North Africa conflict and political dynamics required, and peacebuilding thematic expertise * Demonstrated project design, implementation, and monitoring, evaluation & learning experience. * Experience managing programs in coordination with teams based abroad * Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines * Demonstrated research, analytic, and writing skills. Able to write effectively in a variety of formats and for a variety of audiences * Fluency in Arabic and English speaking, writing, and reading is required. Fluency in French is strongly preferred * Must have strong collaboration skills and coordination skills, balancing needs and priorities of multiple stakeholders * Must have excellent interpersonal skills. * Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS Excel is required
