Terms of Reference Training of Trainers (ToT) training

To be held in person twice (in Arabic separately and Kurdish separately).

General background for the ToT

NGO Coordination Committee for Iraq (NCCI) is an independent, neutral, and partner-led NGO forum that exists to support national and international NGOs in Iraq.

NCCI is recruiting a ToT trainer to provide training in Arabic and Kurdish. The recipients of the training are the staff of the DNGOs representing the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Government of Iraq.

This training will focus on: public speaking, how to present information effectively, respond to participant questions, and lead activities that reinforce learning.

Note: Two trainers may be selected in the event one qualified trainer with proficient language ability in both Arabic and Kurdistan is not identified.

Training Objective

Develop the capacity of DNGO staff to communicate information to NGOs and institutional partners, how to design training programs, including training materials, and how to conduct and lead training with a focus on techniques, tools and tips of training management.

Scheduling

The trainer is expected to conduct the training programs during January and February 2023. Each training will be prepared, delivered and reported according to the below timeframe:

Targeted Audience; Preparation; Design; Delivery of Training; Report Preparation; Approval of NCCI

DNGO staff GoI 1 day 1 day 3 days 1 day 1 day

DNGO & KIPA staff KRG 1 day 1 day 3 days 1 day 1 day

Following the core, foundational training referenced above, the trainer(s) will conduct a one or two-day training session to support the recipients of the core training. The length of time is contingent on the subject matter and the level of interest/demand from the participants. This follow-on training will occur no more than two times over the balance of the year.

7 DNGO GOI staff,

7 DNGO KRI staff, with a possibility of 2 staff from KIPA

Training location

The training will take place in person in Erbil. The identified dates of January and February 2023 require flexibility and is contingent upon participants availability.

  • Developing an agenda into a learning experience
  • Preparing presentations
  • Designing and using exercises and role plays
  • How to evaluate a training

Tasks and deliverables of the trainer

  • In close coordination with NCCI, prepare draft agenda and provide input and advice to determine overall objectives of the training, key content areas and strategy and methodology for presentation
  • Prepare training materials and make sure it adequately covers the objectives of the training based on international standards
  • Ensure workshop sessions are linked together and easy to follow
  • Design interactive exercises and role plays
  • Submit participant’s evaluation score
  • Submit trainer and training evaluation report that shows the overall all success in meeting objectives
  • Submit training final report
