Background

Since 2011, iMMAP has been supporting actors responding to the crisis in Yemen. Currently, iMMAP provides information management (IM) assistance to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), cluster/sector leads, NGOs and United Nations agencies. iMMAP’s support includes building the IM capacity of humanitarian actors, the provision of IM tools and digital transformation of complex operational mechanisms.

In addition, iMMAP provides capacity building support to partners in Yemen since 2017. Up to date, over 72 trainings have been delivered to over 126 humanitarian organizations in Yemen, covering a wide range of technical IM modules in different Hubs in Yemen.

In 2022, iMMAP Yemen program deployed Online Training System aimed to provide access to the learning opportunities and IM best practices to the humanitarian community in Yemen. The Online Training System, acts as a repository for online materials of the technical modules. Through the Online Training System iMMAP offers a variety of training packages which include general and advanced IM training, as well as specific, tailor-made training packages aimed at supporting the unique needs of humanitarian and development stakeholders.

Scope of work and expected outputs / deliverables:

The incumbent will support and effectively contribute to the initiation, planning, design, development and implementation of humanitarian capacity building program in country. The role also involves support to the effective coordination of training The consultant will be expected to support the iMMAP Online Training System through the development of IM related training material.

He/She will be required to support Capacity Building Coordinator in tailoring the existing training material from face-to-face to online modality according to the agreed structure of the modules. The design of the online training material will include both narrative and technical part of modules. In addition to the existing material in the Training System the consultant will be expected to develop online training material to be uploaded into the System.

The Consultant will work under the supervision of the Capacity Building Coordinator and in close collaboration with Information System development team. He/She will present the results to Capacity Building Coordinator to share the progress of activities under this contract and certifying that the required work and tasks have been satisfactorily performed.

The Responsibilities of the position include but not limited to:

· Undertake online research and analyze all available and relevant documents/training modules, to ensure the training modules have sufficient information for self-paced learning

· Review/update and complement existing training material in the Online Training System with additional information including both narrative part and learning visuals

· Design and develop new training modules/material according to the set/agreed online structure

· Ensure that at least 15 training modules/material are fully completed and uploaded into the Training System

· Support the capacity building team in delivering training sessions

· Facilitate IM trainings according to the Capacity Building Plan

Final deliverables:

Deliverable 1 – At least ten of the online training modules reviewed and updated in the Training System. Each training module will require:

· Review the narrative of the training material and update/complement with necessary information, ensuring the material consists sufficient self-paced learning information.

· Design and add learning visuals/images relevant to each training topic in the training modules

The existing training modules in the Training System includes:

Primary Data Collection, GIS Fundamentals, Coordinated Needs Assessment, Data Preparations and Analysis, Excel, Kobo XLS forms (Basics), Humanitarian Information Management, Data Visualization, Data Quality Assessment, “R” Programming Fundamentals.

**Deliverable 2 -**Five comprehensive IM technical training modules developed and uploaded in addition to the existing material in the Training System. These training modules includes:

1. Advanced Power BI:

· Advanced Power Query (importing and transforming data)

· DAX in report building

· Filter Content with DAX

· Power BI bookmarking

2. “R” Language:

· “R” Fundamentals

· Data in/to “R”

· Data manipulations

· Basic statistics in R

· Visualizations in R

· Data Mapping and Markdown in “R”

3. ArcGIS Desktop

· Global Positioning System

· Map Anatomy and Map file Formats

· Tools in ArcGIS Desktop

· Adding Layers and Layers properties in GIS Desktop

· Symbology, Labeling and Page Setup

· Exporting Maps

· Geodatabase and Geoprocessing

4. ArcGIS Online

· Global Positioning System

· Map Anatomy and Map file Formats

· Tools in ArcGIS Desktop

· Adding Layers and Layers properties in GIS Desktop

· Symbology, Labeling and Page Setup

· Exporting Maps

· Geodatabase and Geoprocessing

5. DHIS2 (District Health Information Software)

· DHIS2 Information Cycle

· DHIS2 Data Types and Data Analysis

Other tasks

Additionally, He/She will be requested to support Capacity Building team in delivering information management training sessions according to the Capacity Building Plan.

To ensure smooth and timely training delivery he/she will need to:

· Revise and tailor the existing training material (instructor-paced) based on the request from respective cluster partners ensuring it responds to capacity enhancement needs of the partner

· Ensure that all required training preparation completed and the training materials are in place including pre and post tests

· Support Capacity Building Coordinator in developing training reports when and if required

Requirements

EDUCATION

· Advance University Degree in Information Technology or related disciplines;

Experience and Qualifications:

· At least 2-4 years of prior work experience in information management

· Good technical knowledge of Data Collection, Reporting and Visualization tools

· Demonstrated knowledge and experience in conducting information management trainings using both face-to face and online modalities

· Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing technical training modules/curriculum, training materials etc

· Demonstrated knowledge and skills in creating visuals and video learning material.

· Good organisational skills to deliver products on time and with quality

· Excellent researching and analytical capacity

· Strong writing, editing, and oral communication skills in English.

· Advanced knowledge and skills in Power BI, “R” Language and ArcGIS
