Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to assist and support the Training Department in administration, planning, communication, and evaluation for the training programmes conducted in Iraq. The Training Assistant will be the central point of communication for the training department with partner NGOs and will be responsible for building relationships and maintaining communication with partners. 

Our ideal candidate will be highly organised, have experience in organising trainings or other events, possess strong oral and written communication skills, be willing to work collaboratively alone or with the team, flexible, and have experience working in a multi-cultural environment. The candidate should have an interest in the work of INSO, be knowledgeable about the Iraq context, and have a passion for capacity building of NGOs.

This position is based in Erbil with frequent travel to key locations across other locations in Iraq. The selected candidate must adhere to all safety precautions and contribute to the safety of the team.

 


Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Hierarchy

Reports to the Training Manager (Line Manager).

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Training Manager and Training Officers in the planning, logistics, and administration of the training programme.
  • Interface directly with both internal INSO staff and external stakeholders on all matters related to administration, logistics, finance, and procurement for training events.
  • Manage day to day correspondence, reports, and other documents.
  • Advertise training courses to partners and compile and organise all applications.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation for courses, including setting up training space, printing documents, liaising with training venue, etc.
  • Manage and maintain an inventory of serviceable training supplies, materials, and equipment, including safe storage and accountability.
  • Assist in the preparation, compilation, recording and filing of post-training reports and evaluations with lessons learned and analysis.
  • Manage and update the participant database.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary diploma in relevant field.
  • Efficient use of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Excellent working knowledge of English, Arabic, and Kurdish (spoken and written).
  • Demonstrable experience in administration, logistics, and/or event planning
  • At least 2 years’ experience working with International NGOs in an administrative or program assistant position.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills; able to work independently.
  • Willingness to learn and ability to work in a fast paced, multi-cultural and close-knit team to deliver tangible results on a deadline.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with different kind of stakeholders.

Preferred Characteristics:

  • Familiarity with the philosophy, priorities, and principles of humanitarian NGOs and NGO approaches to security. Field experience a plus.
  • Team player.
  • An effective communicator.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible and proactive.

How To Apply

Terms and Conditions:

12-month contract based in Erbil, Iraq with expected start date of 27 April 2022, 20 days annual leave a year. Annual salary increment added according to INSO Salary Scale 2020 – Salary grade 5 (Five), Health insurance is included in the salary package.

The salary is taxable according to Iraqi laws.
