Training and Assessment Officer – Engineering

Here at Serco we’re looking for a Training and Assessment Officer to join our team to Deliver Apprenticeship Standards at Level 2 – 3 within Engineering – including aeronautical mechanical.
You will be responsible for the delivery and administration of teaching, learning and assessment within the apprenticeships standards that is compliant with internal and external quality standards.
You will have overall responsibility for the end-to-end learner journey, right from learner induction through to End Point Assessment.
As Part Of This You’ll
- Plan, implement and deliver high quality initial assessments, inductions, teaching and learning sessions and reviews of progress with learners and ensure all delivery meets quality and performance standards set
- Participate in regular OTLA & IQA Observations and share good practice
- Complete timely reviews, setting SMART targets for achievement with candidates and Line Managers/supervisors
- Have a full understanding of the National Standards for the qualifications being delivered and assessed and an awareness of the differences between the intermediate and advanced qualifications
- Complete and submit appropriate training documentation within specified timelines including Individual Learner Records/Plans (ILR/Ps) for funding, in line with Skills Funding Agency requirements and Vocational Services Unit procedures
- Be occupationally competent in Aeronautical Mechanical Engineering
What You’ll Need To Do The Role
- Excellent communication skills at all levels, both verbally and written
- Experience of delivery of Functional Skills (all applicable)
- You will have proven experience of assessing vocational qualifications and experience of delivering teaching, learning and assessment as a Training and Assessment Officer or similar
- Recognised Teaching Qualification at Level 5 or above, CAVA or similar would be desirable
- Qualification in Maths & English Level 2 or equivalent would be required
