Shell

This is an exciting chance for you to join the highly energetic and diverse team in Trading & Supply (T&S) DACH as a T&S Analyst. You’ll have the opportunity to understand our unique end-to-end supply chain and commercial business in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).

Where you fit in

Shell Trading & Supply (T&S) steers and operates one of the most complex supply chains in our industry, including various products, assets, and supply structures.

The Trading & Supply Products and Operations organization in DACH manages and optimizes hydrocarbon product flows within Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. It balances the supply and demand of all hydrocarbons in the Shell system to optimally meet customer needs and create value from Shell’s refining assets. The regional focus lies on Germany, Austria, and Switzerland whilst many teams widened their scope to other European countries in recent years.

Whilst energy demand rises, the urgency to reduce CO2 emissions is an increasingly important task for everyone. Serving the largest energy market in Europe – Germany – T&S also plays a central role in driving our journey to a lower carbon future by developing new supply chains and transforming our offer to customers.

Driving towards this cleaner energy future, T&S steadily increases focus on commercializing new and cleaner energy products as well as digitizing parts of our business, operations, and customer interfaces.

The Trading & Supply team in Hamburg works closely with international colleagues, mainly based in Rotterdam. Today, T&S is enabling significant value by optimizing a supply chain including three refineries.

What’s the role?

This role is a position as part of the newly created development program “T&S Accelerator Scheme”.

As T&S Analyst you will be taking the opportunity to gain a broad understanding and detailed knowledge about T&S and the collaborative end-to-end value generation.

During your development role, you will be working in two different assignments (1 year each) across T&S DACH: You will start in one of our Operations teams, followed by an assignment in either Supply or Commercial Fuels.

  • Commercial Operations: You ensure maximum value is gained by the best use of optimized supply routes and full utilization of our loading and discharge system, you help the team in their digitalization agenda and/or support on various projects.
  • Distribution Operations: You work on various tasks and projects in the landscape of our own depots/terminals and road transport. The optimization of the operational business as well as digitalization and smarter use of data is key.
  • Supply: You gain an external view by working and negotiating with our partners to balance the T&S supply chain, you are responsible to ensure accuracy of our sales contracting processes, and/or you work on projects focusing on the future-oriented development of our supply chain.
  • Commercial Fuels: You are fully focused on our customers – either by closing the most profitable deals with them, analysing the business to become even more successful or by steering the prices for the dealmaking. You might also join projects which focus on digitalizing parts of the customer interface or develop new concepts for our customers to sell on cleaner Shell products.

During your assignment, you will be an active part of a very dynamic environment amongst the T&S DACH community. You will build a strong network, attend relevant trainings, collect many different useful skills for the future and have a deep understanding of the T&S business.

After you finished two years in this role, we will jointly search for the best landing role to accelerate your career in T&S further.

What we need from you?

Furthermore, we are looking for the following skills and behavior:

  • Open-minded, delivery-focused and want to work with a diverse range of stakeholders
