The Opportunity
As our successful Trademark Attorney, you will be an important part of the team with the key objectives of
- Conducting trademark clearances and ensures with the support of hub counsel trademark registrations worldwide
- Dealing independently with parallel import trademark issues
- Reviewing independently the IP portion of all kinds of agreements such as licensing, distribution agreements etc.
- Handling and ensuring trademark protection of new global products.
- Under guidance of Head of Trademarks, dealing with inter parties’ disputes.
- Supporting the trademark portion of divestment projects
Responsibilities
- Conducts trademark clearances
- Revision of the IP portion of all kind of agreements
- Provides tailored copyright support
- Coordinates as necessary with outside counsels registration of trademarks worldwide.
- Handles trademark Parallel Import matters
- Provides business and budgeting friendly trademark risk assessments
- Works and coordinates with paralegals as needed in ensuring that assigned matters are properly recorded in docketing system
- Assists with other trademark matters on an as-needed basis as directed by Head of Trademarks and as guided by US Trademark Attorney.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Law Degree and admitted to the bar in a relevant European jurisdiction
- At least 5 years experience with trademark prosecution, ideally with a working background in EU copyrights and Parallel Import matters
- Highly experienced in trademark clearances, trademark prosecution and review of different types of agreements
- Minimum of 3 year of experience in a law firm, and preferable at least 2 years of experience as in-house pharma IP/trademark counsel
- Experience in working with an international IP/Trademark perspective
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience working as in-house counsel in an industry, with preference for pharmaceutical, life science or tech company, supporting, amongst others, business, patients, and customers’ access
- Experienced in IP/trademark divestment projects and knowledge about Parallel Import matters
- Experience/knowledge in Anaqua
- Proficiency in German would be a plus
