Work in conjunction with agency management, underwriting staff, underwriting counsel, and settlement support staff to manage real estate settlement transactions from the time of initial client contact through the closing conference and all post-close processing.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Correspond, and develop positive relationships with, realtors, lenders, attorneys, sellers, borrowers, and other title companies, to ensure that all necessary information is obtained, and all closing conditions are satisfied.
  • Perform all pre-closing functions, including but not limited to: satisfying all requirements in title commitments, collecting and/or preparing all necessary closing documents, reviewing purchase contracts, reviewing lender instructions and closing packages, and completing settlement statement forms.
  • Underwrite title commitments and policies as directed by management, and as based on local custom .
  • Attend and conduct closing conferences and ensure that all documentation is properly explained and executed.
  • Process all escrow receipts, balance accounts, and make all disbursements in accordance with the settlement statement and all written instructions.
  • Work in conjunction with underwriting and settlement support staff to complete all post-closing functions, including but not limited to: transmitting loan payoffs, paying taxes, assessments and liens, coordinating document recording, distributing final documentation, and following up on any outstanding disbursements. 7. Comply with all local customs, industry standards, regulatory requirements, carrier guidelines and BridgeTrust policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Business Development team with meetings and presentations as needed, and by making referrals of new and prospective clients.

Required Skills And Competencies

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of experience in the real estate/title industry
  • Title insurance license, or ability to obtain a license within 6 months of employment
  • Notary commission, or ability to obtain commission within 6 months of employment
  • Detail oriented
  • Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure
  • Professional and courteous
  • Proficient with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office applications
