Position: In-Country Support for MEL
Location: Turkey/Gaziantep, with possibilities of trips to Northwest Syria and abroad.
Project Name: Upskilling and Future-proofing human resources for health and enhancing health governance for Universal health coverage and better-quality care —UFUQ.
Project Duration: 46 Months.
Gross Salary: 2345 Euro.

The UFUQ project is led by THET in collaboration with the Syrian Development Center (SDC).
The project is strategically designed to uplift the health conditions of the Syrian population. It addresses critical elements of health workforce management and medical education in North West Syria, aiming for a transformative impact on health outcomes in the region.

Responsibilities:
The In-Country Support for MEL, reporting to the In-Country Representative, will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day monitoring of UFUQ project activities, ensuring alignment with the log-frame outcomes.

  • Work closely with the SDC Information System Specialist to capture data contributing to UFUQ project outcomes.

  • Develop and refine data collection tools to ensure comprehensive and accurate information gathering.

  • Ensure consistency in data flow with the progress of UFUQ project implementation, making adjustments as needed.

  • Report progress and findings to the THET MEL Manager, ensuring UFUQ project indicators are met.

  • Support in conducting mid-term internal evaluations and final evaluations, contributing to UFUQ project learning.

  • Actively participate in UFUQ project planning sessions and contribute to MEL-related decision-making.

  • Ensure that UFUQ project data collection aligns with established indicators and contributes to overall project success.

  • Collaborate with UFUQ project partners and technical contractors to enhance MEL capacity and understanding.

    Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in monitoring and evaluation within health or development projects, including internal evaluations and contributions to final project evaluations.

  • Familiarity with the development and implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) systems and tools.

  • Proficient in the development and implementation of data collection tools, ensuring consistency in data flow throughout project implementation.

  • Experience in coordinating MEL activities within complex projects, collaborating effectively with technical partners and project stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical skills, demonstrating the ability to use data analysis tools and techniques to translate data into actionable insights.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic, with the ability to convey complex MEL concepts to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
