The University of Salford
A Bit About Marketing, Recruitment And External Relations…
In the Directorate of Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations, we are responsible for the core range of activities that promote and engage with our external environment and stakeholders. This includes both prospective and current students, businesses and our local community. Made up of Marketing and Communications, Student Recruitment and Outreach and External Relations teams, we work together to plan and deliver key activities that support the University’s ambitions for growth, diversity and an increased profile.
The Student Recruitment and Outreach Team is a busy team whose core focus is the provision of information, advice and guidance to prospective students to help inform their decision-making about higher education. We work in partnership with a wide range of people across the University in the delivery of that information and guidance.
So, what will the role involve?
We’re looking for a student recruitment professional to support our key recruitment activities. You’ll represent the university at events including UCAS exhibitions, and fairs at schools and colleges, both across the region and further afield.
Responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of a variety of student recruitment activities, alongside account management of our feeder and target colleges, you’ll be experienced in balancing a number of different priorities while keeping focused on the enquirer experience. You’ll be a people person with a keen eye for detail, great communication skills, the ability to work closely with stakeholders, and a commitment to delivering impartial information, advice and guidance to all.
You are expected to be independent and driven, and in addition to your core role you’ll be involved in a range of other activities with the team including supporting Open Days and Confirmation and Clearing. It’s a busy, varied and fun role for the right person – no two weeks are ever the same.
It’s really important to note that there will be a significant amount of domestic travel and overnight stays in the role, and the post holder will be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekend commitments. Due to the amount of travel with this role, we’re looking for someone who has a valid and full driving licence and is comfortable driving mid-long distances regularly*.
If you’ve got further questions, please contact Alison Brooks, Student Recruitment Team Leader on [email protected] for an informal chat.
We are aiming to respond to applicants week commencing 3rd October to advise if you have been invited for an interview.
If there is a reason you cannot meet this requirement, we are open to discussion around how you might fulfil the travel requirements of the role
