Position Summary
The Administrative Aid reports to and works under the supervision of Corps officers, assesses clients, processes requests for social service assistance, supports food distribution, orders food purchases, supplies, works with other agencies in the community, maintains physical and digital records of the program and prepares reports and statistics for social services.
Essential Functions
Answering, tracking and follow up client phone calls
Provide information about Corps and Social Service program.
Social Service assistance intake process,
Social service assistance applications recording process
Keeping safe client’s records
Make and Keeping WM, CCM Corps records in R Drive
Food Pantry organize, packing boxes and food distribution
Support all the regular and seasonal assistance programs to community,
Prepare Social Service program reports and stats
Make flyers, posters, letters, and social media posts
Coordinate volunteers, applications, and assigned projects.
Processing Payable Accounts
Work along with the Corps officers to improve the effectiveness of the program
Participate in related to Salvation Army training
Attend City and partner agencies meetings as required.
Other tasks assigned by Corps officer as needed
Working Conditions
Bilingual English and Spanish
Two years of experience in the area of social services or equivalent.
Ability to work with a variety of people in a non-discriminatory manner including (but not limited to): various races, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, personal appearance, and mental and physical abilities.
Ability to prepare and maintain accurate and complete case notes and client records
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to meet quality standards and deadlines.
Ability to build and maintain effective and professional working relationships with clients and the community.
Valid California driver’s license.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Clean MVR driving test and verification.
If working around children, a certified criminal background check is required to protect Mission policies and procedures.
Ability to perform tasks under pressure and good time management skills.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge and support of The Salvation Army’s history, policies, and practices.
