BACKGROUND AND INTRODUCTION

About CRP

Collateral Repair Project (CRP) supports Amman’s refugees and host communities through two vibrant community centers in Hashemi Shamali and Downtown Amman serving a population of over 6500 families. Our holistic approach focuses on positive growth and change. We provide families with humanitarian assistance and offer them educational, community-building, and psychosocial activities through a wide variety of programs that prioritize skill-building and resilience. Our programs are led by volunteers and leaders from the community and abroad, and we prioritize hiring individuals who are creative problem solvers, dedicated and enthusiastic, and actively take initiative to develop our programs and move our work to the forefront of best practice.

2. About the Project

Nurturing Families Project is a research project conducted by War Child Holland, in partnership with Collateral Repair Project with generous funds from GIZ. Nurturing Families aims to provide systematic family- focused MHPSS interventions for Syrian and Iraqi families living in Hashemi Shamali – East Amman. The program has 3 phases: Phase 1 involves the consultation to inform the theory of change and the co-creation of the intervention design. The 2nd phase is a piloting phase that involves 12 families receiving 20 intervention sessions including assessments for 5 months from August – December , 2021. Phase 3 involves 30 families taking up to 20 intervention sessions and 30 families are the control group. The specific objective of this consultancy is to provide a total of 18 in person training sessions to 6 groups of participants as follows:

  • Each session is 3 hours long

  • Each group receives 3 training sessions.

  • The total number of groups is 6

  • The total number of participants is 138

, 3. Objectives and targets

CRP aims to contract a consultant to conduct a 6 training session for up to 138 participants about financial literacy to support vulnerable Iraqi and Syrian refugees to improve their capacity on how they manage their personal finance. The training session will be 3 hour long with a total of 9 hour training per participant.

The training will include:

  • Creating an outline for the training session identifying main objectives and outcomes

  • Creating an agenda and engaging presentation for training session to be conducted in person

  • Coordinating with WCH and CRP representative on implementing the training

  • Creating a pre and post test to measure the participants improvement in knowledge and understanding of the topics covered

3. Scope of Work( Work Assignment)

Under the supervision CRP project manager, the consultant is expected to complete the following tasks**:**

1) Develop an engaging and interactive presentation that will build the participants’ capacity.

2) Develop assessment sheet comprising of pre and post tests to measure the workshop attendees’ increase in knowledge and understanding of the subject

3) Provide a final report on the workshop reflecting the results of the pre-/post- test assessment

Outputs:

  • Action plan for the consultancy with timeline – to be submitted for approval (in English)

  • Presentation to be used for the workshop

  • One summative report of the workshop and pre/post test

Timeframe

The final deadline for the report is one week after the conclusion of the training sessions. This consultancy is expected to be completed by May 31st

Qualification

  • A bachelor degree in a finance and / or any related field

  • A previous experience in designing training content.

  • A previous experience in implementing financial literacy training.

  • knowledge and experience working with the refugee community in Amman is highly desirable.
