CDTD

1. Organizational background:

Centre For Domestic Training & Development (CDTD) was founded in 2001 with avision to employ as many domestic workers with proper home care management skills. CDTD strived to professionalize an understand the challenges that faced this industry. Treating Domestic Workers with dignity and respect and fair pay was an acute problem over and above the stigma associated with domestic work. CDTD began a program in 2001 under the Domestic Support Services, which initially served 5 girls from Kibera. Sensitive to the needs of Kenyan women and the founder’s burden to change the sufferings of Domestic Workers a Centre was born and registered as an NGO in 2003. Since then, CDTD has adopted numerous programs to change the landscape of Domestic Work among them being the National Shelters Network, Counter Trafficking-In Persons, Sexual & Gender Based Violence (SGBV) program with Domestic Workers Transformational Program (DWTP) as the focal point of CDTD’s work. To date CDTD has transformed more than 10,000 people and remained a focal policy influencer in matters employment, labor rights advocacy, sexual & gender based violence, safe migration and counter trafficking-In persons.

2.0 Project background:

The Centre for Domestic Training and Development is committed to improving its performance and achieving development results and therefore is making efforts to improve its ability to resource mobilize for its organization given its pivotal pograms portfolio role of; improving vulnerable workforce of domestic work; creating safe spaces for victims of human trafficking; gender based violence; child labour and forced labour. The executive, senior management and program officers seek to understand the process of grant making and the complex task of contextualizing its vision in a Theory Of Change (TOC) to the various granting opportunities, learn how to scout for such opoortunities, learn what to write in concept notes, pitch deck and proposals and improve its ideation process of defining a problem statement, project planning and design, reporting and impact asssessment. In this regard, CDTD is seeking to outsource a specialist to facilitate the transfer of such knowledge and techniques through the facilitation of an appropriate, practical, and tailored training process.

3.0 Project objectives:

The main objective of this training is to enhance the staff capacity in the area of resource mobilization and linking this learning with the program portfolios of CDTD. To ensure a completes grasp of the training, the trainer should include extensive use of case studies, group work and quizzes to disseminate their content.The key learning objectives of this training process are:

i. Improve ideation process of understanding a problem statement, project plan and design and impact assessment.

ii. Improve understanding of developing a Theory Of Change and logframe.

iii. Strengthen skills of scouting for donor opportunities aligned to CDTD’s programming.

iv. Improve grasp of writing a pitch deck, concept note and project proposal.

v. Infuse the understanding of donor and stakeholders management.

4.0 Project outcomes and deliverables:

i. Staff shall be able to align their vision in a theory of change,identify donor opoortunities, articulate their resource needs through a pitchdeck, concept note and proposal.

ii. Develop a training schedule and materials in soft and physical booklet with content in (i)

above using case studies, quiz and group work activities to enable deeper understanding of

resource mobilization.

5.0 Duration:

The training will have a duration of 2 days and will be carried out at CDTD’s Graceland Court Office.The training will be facilitated over 2 full working days by an individual or a team of trainers.The materials shall be delivered in soft through a power point presentation and booklet for at least 20 participants.

7.0 Requirements:

Technical proposal – including methodology, training parameters, training schedule and budget listing of learning techniques to be provided to participants, topics to be covered and activities to be undertaken.

8.0 Qualifications and competencies:

· Proven experience in the field of resource mobilization.**

· Experience in conducting a focused group training.**

· Minimum of a degree in relevant field of development studies, project management, finance, grant manangement or its equivalent.**

· Proven work of at least 3years working with INGOs, NGOs, CSO and CBOs is an added advantage.

· Ability to orate and write in a mannaer that can be understood by senior management and program officers.**

9.0 Payment and submissions:

60% payment upon presentation of an acceptable preliminary Training Scope Report (TSR) and balance after an acceptable training outcome report together with a demand note (invoice) for the services rendered.
