Background

Anthrologica (www.anthrologica.com) has developed specific expertise in applied social science in emergency and humanitarian response, particularly regarding public health emergencies. Anthrologica is a founding partner of the Social Science in Humanitarian Action Platform (www.socialscienceinaction.org) (SSHAP) with the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

An important aspect of our work with SSHAP is the preparation and editing of a variety of publications to inform operational actors responding to humanitarian emergencies and the full range of stakeholders across the emergency response. These publications present syntheses of social science evidence and practical considerations. We collaborate closely with agency partners including WHO, UNICEF, IFRC and others, as well as with Ministries of Health and local institutions.
