Technical Service Intern (Nutrition, Veterinary and Consumer Services)

Compana Pet Brands is excited to announce our 2023 Internship Program. The program is designed to kick-start your career and provide real-world experience in your chosen profession. Interns will further develop their skills and knowledge by completing project-based work that addresses real business issues. The program also connects participants with management at various levels of the organization and provides an inside view of Compana Pet Brand’s environment and culture. The program structure includes an end-of- program project presentation by the intern to members of Compana Pet Brand’s management team.

As our Technical Service Intern, you’ll make an impact by:

• Conducting at least 1 literature review on an assigned topic.
• Shadowing the following departments to gain insight and experience to the petfood industry:
• Product Innovation
• Nutrition, formulation, ingredient selection, etc.
• Marketing
• How to communicate benefits of our brand to consumers
• Customer Care
• Learn what questions are frequently asked and to best formulate informative responses
• Learn effective technical communication skills
• FSQ/Quality
• Observe testing and monitoring procedures that accompany existing and new products
• Learn about regulatory environment and key aspect associated to animal health and nutrition
• Veterinary Clinic(s) as applicable
• Developing a new nutritional product from start to finish including insight gained while shadowing.
• Investigating a novel feed ingredient for defined species.

What you need to succeed:

• Must be enrolled as a Full-Time student at a US-based institution.
• Relevant coursework and/or certification in Animal Science or Veterinary Science related fields.
• Preference given to students in Masters, PhD or Veterinary Medicine Programs.
