Contract Length: 8 Months

Job Summary:

The Technical Field Engineer in Syria is responsible, under the supervision of the project manager in Turkey, for implementing Rahma Worldwide dignified shelter projects, including site assessments, coordination, and consultation with relevant local authorities/stakeholders, development of BoQs, Technical Terms, and overseeing vendor identification and provide overall follow-up and supervision on the implementation of Shelter activities/rehabilitation works whether through a contractor or through cash assistance when it is needed. The field Engineer will represent RWW at the field level and ensure the smooth implementation of quality programming that meets the needs of the identified beneficiary community.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

1- Provide overall follow-up and supervision on the implementation of Shelter activities/rehabilitation works whether through a contractor or through cash assistance when it is needed.

2- Develop and continually update Detailed Implementation Plans for the delivery of project activities

3- Validate program of works and method statements submitted by contractors and suppliers

4- Track activity expenses; ensure that appropriate action in place in a timely fashion.

5- Conduct Shelter assessments in affected households

6- Develop specifications, drawings, and Bills of Quantities (BoQ’s) and support in the selection of potential contractors

7- Assist in the development of proposals for new Shelter projects

8- Ensure that all information related to Shelter activities are collected and reported in a timely manner.

9- Validate the accuracy of the data, and the quality of the Shelter interventions.

10- Submit regular reports related to the project to the related manager.

11- Coordinate the works between beneficiaries, consultant, contractor and client and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

12- Report the daily progress of works to the related manager.

13- Follow up with RWW Syria office on the quality of implementation, provide technical guidance as well as ensure all logistical matters are completed.

14- Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or architecture.
•Minimum of 2 years’ work experience working directly for an NGO or relevant organization,
• Good knowledge of engineering programs
• The applicants should have good written and verbal English and Arabic skills,
