Northrop Grumman is currently seeking an Technical Editor and Writer Level 2 for our Magna, Utah location.

Job Summary

Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure and operational specifications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions. Acquires subject knowledge by engaging technicians, observing production methods, referring to technical specifications, and engineering drawings. Understands and includes OSHA requirements in the documents. Provides technical support with maintenance software on our mobile hand held devices.

Basic Qualifications Technical Editor And Writer (2)

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s Degree; In lieu of formal degree, High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least 7 years of relevant experience in a related field
  • Experience authoring technical documentation in manufacturing execution systems software
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and system description documents.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software products
  • US citizen with the ability to obtain and retain a Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, written and oral communication abilities
  • Working knowledge in document preparation, editing, and grammar
  • Experience authoring technical documentation in Maximo
  • Experience performing mechanical and/or electrical equipment repairs.
  • Understanding of basic engineering principles as well as the ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering documentation such as engineering drawings, and schematic diagrams
  • Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional team environments

This position falls under a Federal Explosives License issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for this location. Candidates hired into this role will be required to complete and submit an Employee Possessor Questionnaire to ATF for approval to be a possessor

Salary Range: $55,100 USD – $82,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
