Turquoise Mountain is implementing a comprehensive four-month Technical Drawing training program aimed at enhancing the skills of entry-level traditional carpentry trainees. This program is designed to run in parallel with the trainees’ technical training in carpentry, focusing on equipping them with the essential technical drawing skills that will significantly enhance their craftsmanship and broaden their employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

Objectives:

The primary objective of the Technical Drawing Trainer’s role is to deliver high-quality instruction in the principles of technical drawing, with a particular focus on applications in traditional carpentry. The program aims to build a solid foundation in geometric principles and drawing methods, thereby empowering the trainees to improve their design capabilities and precision in carpentry projects.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a four-month technical drawing training to 10 trainees, with a focus on the following topics but not limited: introduction to technical drawing, geometric constructions, orthographic projection, dimensioning and tolerancing, isometric and perspective drawing, planning, and designing carpentry projects.
  • Regularly assess the progress of trainees through assignments, tests, and practical exercises and provide constructive feedback to students to encourage continuous improvement and mastery of technical drawing skills.
  • Collaborate with carpentry instructors to ensure that the technical drawing curriculum complements the carpentry training program.
  • Facilitate the application of technical drawing skills in carpentry projects, enhancing trainees’ ability to visualize, plan, and execute their work accurately.
  • Identify gaps in the skills and knowledge of trainees to develop personalized training plans accordingly.
  • Provide monthly reports on trainee’s progress, the activities conducted, outcomes achieved, challenges faced, and recommendations for development, design methodology used etc.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Technical Drawing and Geometric Drawing.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in technical drawing, with a strong understanding of geometric principles and drafting techniques.
  • Experience in teaching or training, with a proven ability to deliver content effectively and engage learners of varying skill levels.
  • Knowledge of traditional carpentry techniques and the ability to integrate this knowledge with technical drawing instruction. Previous experience in training with youth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire trainees.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development in both technical drawing and carpentry.
  • The training will be conducted in Arabic.

Working hours:

1 Day a week from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
