Abjad Educational Initiative

We are looking for a responsible team lead to administer and organize Abjad’s projects. The role extends from, simple activities to more complex plans.

The Team Lead’s responsibilities include closely working with our Ex-Board to prepare comprehensive action plans, and arranging resources,] timeframes, and budgets for different projects.

Location: Full Remote.

Working Hours: Flexible.

Annual Net Income: 9600$ – 18000$

Responsibilities

Project management:

  1. Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment, and information
  2. Break projects into doable working packages and set timeframes
  3. Liaise with Ex-Board to identify and define requirements, scope, and objectives
  4. Analyze risks and opportunities
  5. Oversee project procurement management with HR
  6. Monitor projects progress and handle any issues that arise
  7. Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all stakeholders
  8. Work with the Ex-Board to eliminate blockers and facilitate work flow
  9. Use tools to monitor working hours, plans and expenditures
  10. Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance test

Team management.

  1. Creating an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
  2. Lead the performance management process based on the approved plans.
  3. Motivate team members engagement
  4. Discover training needs and provide coaching
  5. Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
  6. Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments
  7. Encourage creativity and risk-taking
  8. Suggest and organize team-building activities
  9. Ensure effective collaboration with all partners and key stakeholders of the project and participate in the collection of information for the service mapping.

Reporting and communication

  1. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
  2. Ensure that all the project activities and indicators are achieved in a timely manner based on the plan.
  3. Ensure that all data is properly and regularly collected
  4. Monitor the project indicators on a regular basis and make sure the sources of verification are complete
  5. Review the activity reports based on schedule before sending them to the Ex-Board.
  6. Contribute to the preparation of contractual reports.
  7. Participate in Meetings, CCCM, Network groups at the field level, and cluster when requested by the Ex-Board.
  8. Maintain good professional relationships with the beneficiaries, NGO partners, Camp Management, and UN Agencies.
  9. Report to the Ex-Board. any development or change of circumstances regarding the context and actors.

Requirements and Skills

  1. Four years of experience in project management or similar role in the Humanitarian Development field.
  2. An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans
  3. 2 years’ experience at least in team management.
  4. Bachelor’s Degree preferable in Development, Management or any related field.
  5. Fluency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken) is a must.
  6. Experience in the Syrian context is a must.
  7. Master’s Degree is a plus.
  8. Certification or a course in project management (pmp, pmd or agile) is highly recommended.
  9. Solid organizational skills, including multitasking team and time management.
  10. Strong Goal-oriented with the ability to maintain project priorities and teamwork skills.
  11. Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control.
  12. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Planner.
  13. Previous experience in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Trello. etc.) is a plus.
  14. Previous experience in Proposal writing is a plus.
  15. Previous research experience in social sciences is a plus.
  16. Previous experience in development theory and discourse as well as best practices to be divided in to educational and personal qualification
