Our newly founded team in Huawei’s Zurich Research Center will play a leading role in technology innovation for computer vision and machine learning, exploring novel multimedia and camera system concepts, and developing cutting-edge solutions for next generation intelligent devices, such as smartphones, smartwatch, IoT, etc. To consolidate the team, we are now looking for team leader with strong background in Computing Photography, Autonomous Driving, AR/VR and relative fields with dedication to technology innovation.

The ideal you are currently in a senior expert leadership position within computer vision researching and developing organization, you are a passionate technologist in the area of Computing Photography/Autonomous Driving/AR/VR technology and have a track record of delivering the next generation. You have demonstrated the ability to envision the future and have the technical leadership skills to drive concept through to product roadmap impact. You have developed a large network of technology partnerships with OEM’s and academic community in Europe, and have great academic influence and reputation.

Responsibilities

• Defining the technical strategies, researching directions and roadmap for next 3~5 years, and make annual researching plan for the team.
• Organising and managing the team to research the new computer vision technologies which will be applied to next generation consumer electronic products.
• Staff management including objective setting, motivation, development, performance assessment, new employee hiring, and reward recommendation, etc.
• Proposing technical solutions for the remaining issues of the state of art. Technical discussion and decision with the team members.
• Maintaining and developing new collaborations with academic and industrial partners in Europe.
• Exploring the new technical opportunities for new investment, technical evaluation and contract negotiation
• Communicating with internal collaborative teams, travel to other Huawei sites all over the world, and international conferences, etc.

Required Qualifications And Experience

• Background in science or engineering (MsC or PhD)
• Wide knowledge in computer vision and machine learning, experience in computational photography, autonomous driving, ARVR, etc.
• Successful researching leadership experience in a team management position
• Communication skills and experience working with highly technical teams and communicating to non-technical partners.
• Excellent oral and written English.
• German and/or Chinese language skills are a plus but not a necessity
• Experience in both hardware and software development is a plus
• Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
• 8+ years working experience in academic or industrial organization.
