Department Profile
Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.
The position will interface with business partners within and outside of Client Reporting, Operations, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Vendor Management, and directly with vendor partners to assure accuracy, timeliness of hard copy and e-delivery documents.The Director will help identify and define change opportunities and oversee projects from beginning to end with minimal supervision. S/he will act as a subject matter expert for Client Reporting and aim to create efficiencies, improve controls and enhance client experience while focusing on efficiencies. The Director will field inquiries from management, the service center, business partners, and branches and be able to handle escalations, critically assess existing processes and propose well thought out improvements. Responsibilities
- Involvement in change related projects – this includes active participation in all phases of the change process, from idea/enhancement generation through business requirement development, testing strategy, test script development, coordination of involvement in testing by impacted Ops team, into the team test execution and post production review
- Participation in and coordination of the quality assurance process
- Managing testing done by the team – includes cooperation with all Operations teams involved in a particular project
- Continuous improvement of the processes, reduction of risk and process streamlining
- Involvement in internal and external audits, Compliance and Risk reviews
- Handling of field office inquiries and related escalations directed to us by phone, inquiry tracking system or email
- Preparation and analysis of recurring and ad-hock metrics reporting used within the team as well as for senior management socialization. Ability to assure relevance and react to trends and changing needs as required
- Playing a leading role in assuring that team procedures and best practices are continuously up to date, relevant and well documented. S/he will also be responsible for assuring that all relevant documentation relating to performance of various reviews, reconciliations and other documented procedures is kept current and covers all instances
Qualifications
- Bachelor in economics, accounting, finance, or related field or minimum 3 years of experience in a related field at a reputable financial institution or a consulting firm
- Collaborative work style and commitment to getting the job done
- Series 99 will be required within 90 days of onboarding
- Ability to build and maintain cooperative networks and relationships across the organization
- Well-developed analytical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks under tight deadlines with openness and flexibility to tackle quickly changing and competing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of financial services industry products, processes and best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Role is Hybrid and will require in office attendance 3 days/week.
