Tax Accountant

CMA Recruitment Group are representing a very well-known brand on the west side of Totton, assisting their search process for a Tax Accountant on a permanent basis. This is a superb opportunity for someone who loves the details of taxation, audit accuracy, business processes and systems, compliance and control.

What will the role involve?

• Oversee the VAT Registrations & support team to ensure accurate and timely submissions;
• Be a go to person for tax knowledge and queries, including supporting new business flows, liaising with senior management and answering ad hoc queries;
• Support the Global and EMEA tax team on new tax topics and issues;
• Support Controller on liaison with HMRC and external tax advisors;
• Co-ordinate the production of the statutory accounts;
• Co-ordinate the external and internal audit process to ensure completed in efficient and timely manner;
• Review SOX processes on an annual basis and develop new SOX processes where needed;
• Support EMEA region in standardising finance business and systems processes in line with SOX requirements;
• Develop reporting tools in the EMEA region for improving processes including areas such as VAT and intrastate;
• Develop training / user guides for relevant methods and procedures and provide training for the relevant team;
• Perform testing and aid implementation of business application upgrades to reflect tax law updates and compliance;
• Participate in systems related projects;
• Support the GE Finance department and other Garmin departments across the EMEA region as directed by the Controller.

Suitable Candidate

• Ideally ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, however, qualified by experience candidates with substantial knowledge of VAT will be considered;
• Upper intermediate Excel skills;
• Sarbanes Oxley Experience is desirable.
