Overview of position

Client Yemen manages various warehouses in Yemen where food is dispatched for distribution sites daily. To strengthen the control of food movement up to the deliveries points , The client is implementing a traceability system to encode bags of food commodities before its get dispatched to final deliveries points

Role objectives

The prospective staff shall perform tally functions at the various client’s warehouses including using the client’s coding system to print specific marks on each package before it is loaded on the truck.

Project reporting

Reporting to the client’s Warehouse Manager the following:

• Daily tally of packages coded.

• Daily reconciliation of loading orders

The staff will need to supervise casual labours hired by the client or its contractors

Further information

Under the direct supervision of the client’s warehouse manager and the overall supervision of the Logistics Officer, the incumbent shall perform the following duties:

1. Work on the traceability system at the client warehouses by printing the waybill numbers on the client’s food commodities before dispatching them from warehouses and keeping proper tracking records about each code with all relevant details.
2. Conduct daily maintenance of the traceability equipment (printers and ink inventory) by ensuring the high quality of this exercise and implementing appropriate measures to safeguard the equipment and materials.
3. Carefully verify/revise the information provided by the client’s staff, Warehouse operator & Transporters and ensures that the information of the dispatch documents and coding system is implemented correctly.
4. Ensure all trucks loading the client’s cargo move from the warehouse with proper printed codes (waybill numbers) on each package.
5. Perform other related duties as required such as:

i. Perform a daily inspection, and report on the quantity and quality of the stock to client staff at the Warehouse to investigate and address the discrepancies and damages with the Warehouse operator.
ii. Monitor the condition of the warehouse and commodities, take appropriate actions, to support efficient warehouse space planning and well-organized commodity storage following the client’s warehouse standards.
